09/20/06 - ARMORED SAINT and FATES WARNING Bass Player JOEY VERA's Solo Project Released Early.
Joey Vera's solo project, "A Chinese Firedrill", has finished their 2006 release, entitled
'Circles'. Vera handled vocals and all instrumentation, with the exception of drums. Regarding the making of the
record, Vera says "I had time off from touring between May 2005 until June of this year and I thought it was time for me to
make my follow up solo record which has been on my back burner for quite some time. A few of the tunes I had written between 1997 and 2005 but most of it was written during the last year. I made a point to write music that didn't reside in my old hat of tricks as I really felt like branching out a little. I don't really care for describing my music or putting a label on it unless I absolutely have to…" You can only get the release for now from Joey's website for a discounted price of $8 at www.joeyvera.com and will available on CD Baby on September 26th.
You can also catch Joey live, along with Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Snake Sabo (Skid Row) on guitars, in his weekly residence at the House of Blues in Hollywood with Pearl Aday.
