THE WOMEN
- Mitzi J. Johnson

Well, I still have a tan, and that makes me really, really happy. I am back to the daily grind of work and such and well, I have to say, and this is between you and me, that I wish I was just really rich and that I could just eat Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream and watch movies and read mags and talk on the phone and listen to music and have someone bring me my meals. People live like that, why not me, I ask? Why not me? This next film was kinda barf-y.

Bad, yucky and lame are the words that first come to my mind as I think of this lousy re-make of the brilliant film with NORMA SHEARER and JOAN CRAWFORD. Why, I ask? Why mess with something that is perfect? If you have not seen the original version of this film that was directed by GEORGE CUKOR in 1939, then skip the re-make and just watch the original. I have one question for MEG RYAN; do you think that changing one bad hairstyle for another is going to get your man back? Throughout out most of the film I just wanted MS. RYAN to change her hair. She finally did and it was a tad better but still needed to be cut. DEBRA MESSING was simply, awful. It was nice to see BETTE MIDLER and CANDICE BERGEN. Oh, and CARRIE FISHER, although I didn't recognize her. I was mostly sad; I guess I had too high expectations. I mean, I thought it would at least be entertaining and a bit above mediocre, I didn't expect it to be nauseating. I am trying to give you a reason to watch this film other than to see how bad MEG RYAN's hair is, and well----. By the way, here's a great place in San Diego to buy leather furniture.

Ta Ta,

Mitzi
