08/16/06 - Former Wrathchild Vocalist on Reunion
Looks like there will not be a proper reunion featuring the classic line-up of Wrathchild. Former vocalist, Rocky Shades,
talks about how it went when the band rehearsed together for the first time in 15 years.
ROCKY: THE REHEARSALS WERE GOOD, THE NEW MATERIAL IS A BIG STEP IN THE RIGHT
DIRECTION TOWARDS THE OLD WRATH SOUND BUT WITH A HEAVIER EDGE AND A
MORE
MODERN FEEL.
GETTING BACK TOGETHER WAS A REAL EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE AS WE HAD NOT
BEEN
TOGETHER IN A BAND SENSE FOR 15 YEARS.
3 OF THE OLD WRATHCHILD CLASSICS WE REVAMPED WERE
KICK DOWN THE WALLS, LONG WAY TO GO AND NUKKLEAR ROKKET
THE GUYS WERE IN GREAT SHAPE FOR OLD BLOKES AND THE OLD ENERGY WAS
STILL
THERE.
I REALLY WANTED TO DO SOMETHING WITH THIS BAND BUT THERE IS NO SOLID
WORK
BEING OFFERED AS YET, WHEREAS MY BLUES BROTHERS ARE BEING
OFFERED SOME
VERY
BIG ENGAGEMENTS, AND I HAVE FOOD TO PUT ON MY FAMILYS TABLE.
NON OF THE NEW WRATH BAND HAVE FAMILY OR PARTNER COMMITMENTS
As noted in the Full in Bloom Music interview with Rocky Shades, he plays in
