Vinnie Moore
Biography

Vinnie Moore was born on April 14, 1964 in New Castle, Delaware. Vinnie is a guitarist and currently part of the English rock band UFO. He is known as one of the most influential guitarist's of the "shred era".

Vinnie Moore began playing clubs and bars at the age of 12. Eventually Mike Varney from Sharpnel records heard about Vinnie while reading a magazine. Upon discovering this young talent, Vinnie played in a Pepsi commercial in 1985. His hands were the only part of him shown in the commercial, but it did feature his guitar playing. Following the commercial, Vinnie began recording his first solo record, "Mind's Eye", and released it through Shrapnel Records in 1986. The album featured Tony MacAlpine on keyboards and was very well received by critics. "Mind's Eye" has sold over 100,000 copies as well as winning a number of awards from guitar magazines.

The guitarist played with the band Vicious Rumors on their break out album "Soldiers of the Night". Vinnie's skills can be heard in his solo on the song "Invader", receiving many comparisons to Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption". During the late 80's, Vinnie remained with Shrapnel Records, but also played with known hard rock legends such as Alice Cooper on his album "Hey Stoopid". Later, Vinnie released a guitar instructional video.

Vinnie Moore endorsed Music Man guitars until 2007, when he began to promote Dean guitars. In 2008, Dean released a Vinnie Moore signature model guitar. The guitar is known as the Dean VM-2000 and has "ShredHead" humbuckers in the bridge of the guitar. Moore also endorses Engl Amplifiers.
