10/25/06 - Official Statement: Ward, Iommi, Butler & Dio to Reunite
Can it get any better? Looks like we are getting closer to a classic Black Sabbath line-up reunion. This is the statement on Tony Iommi's website, "The highly anticipated reunion of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward appears to be shaping up and taking a new form. After various promoters have approached their respective management; the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have wanted to reunite for some time now. It looks as if the new shape may be that of Heaven and Hell - that's the moniker that the band is likely to use on their new venture. If all goes well, Heaven and Hell should be hitting the road in early 2007."
As ridiculous as it seems, the band is no longer able to use the name Black Sabbath, without Ozzy.

10/12/06 - Billboard Highlights
Cd sales are still strong for several bands and artists. We are sad to see that Justin Timberlake is still going strong, but glad to see that Bob Dylan's latest has gone Gold in the US, totals are at approximately 541,00 copies sold. Weird Al came in at number 19 with a total of 112,208 sold in the US. Audioslave has petered out a bit, but came in at number 52 after selling around 20,000 copies last week, bringing their total to 261,613. Red Hot Chili Peppers, up to date, have sold 1,438,425 and are making a relatively slow crawl toward double platinum. Lindsay Buckingham's latest solo effort is rapidly dropping off the charts, going from over 13,000 in its first week, to not even breaking a thousand in sales the next. Total sales for the Fleetwood Mac guitarist are at 13,111. We are still hoping for a gold record from Buckcherry and it looks like it may happen. The bands first cd, after recently reforming, was initially an independent release and later received Major Label money, but only after the band proved they were still alive. Let's keep our fingers crossed...Buckcherry totals for the week are 432,888, after selling over 10,000 copies last week. Keep buying those cd's. -DPJ
