09/13/06 - CHRIS AND RICH ROBINSON Support Ex-Bandmates
In spite of guitarist Marc Ford's startling resignation only 48 hours before the tour commenced and the recent dismissal of longtime keyboardist Eddie Hawrysch the BLACK CROWES rocked 7,000 fans at
Brown's Island in Richmond, VA and then went on to deliver three more powerful performances through the weekend.
In lieu of the explosion of speculation by the press and fans, THE BLACK CROWES have responded with this statement: "Although we were very disappointed with the timing and method in which we were notified of the situation by Marc's attorney, we remain fully supportive of both Marc and Ed's efforts at sustaining sobriety and are sincerely hopeful that they enjoy a healthy and peaceful future." The band's fall tour will continue as planned, including the much anticipated appearance on October 28 2nd Annual Vegoose festival in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium.
Additionally, the BLACK CROWES plans for the recording and release of a new record in 2007 are still strong. The 2007 release will be the first new material record from the band in six years.
