11/06/06 - Paramount to Release New Rolling Stones Tour DVD
Paramount Pictures have purchased the rights to the upcoming "Rolling Stones (current) Tour" documentary, directed
by Martin Socrsese.
As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount picked the documentary up after Scorsese had filmed
the Rolling Stones performing a 60th Birthday show for former President Bill Clinton, in New York City. Aside from that
show, Scorcese has filmed several Rolling Stones shows, including the Stones show at the Beacon Theatre in NYC and a show in
Austin, Tx.
Of course the film features live footage, as well as a behind the scenes look at the band during its latest
"A Bigger Bang Tour". Expected release date is said to be by the end of next year.
Aside from Martin Scorsese being one of the premier filmmakers, he has also had his hands in the documentary business, beginning with being
one of the main cameramen on Woodstock and later went on to direct the Band's "The Last Waltz" and the recent
Bob Dylan documentary "No Direction Home".

The Louisville Courier-Journal is reporting that two fans have filed a $51 million class-action lawsuit against the
Stones for cancelling their recent New Jersey show, giving only 4 hours notice. Rosalee and Martin Durian are seeking
damages for the fans that traveled long distances only to find out the show had been cancelled.
