10/24/06 - SMASHING PUMPKINS Break Silence on New Record
Jimmy Chamberlin, the Smashing Pumpkins drummer has confirmed that they are indeed working on a new album, but the jury on a full reunion of the original members is still out and for now, we only for sure, Chamberlin, along with front man Billy Corgan spent some time in production with
Roy Thomas Baker (Queen), but and are now collaborating with producer Terry Date (Soundgarden, Pantera, Deftones).
Chamberlin writes, "I'm here to tell you that great things are on track for the future," "As some of you know we are indeed creating music again -- music that comes from a place so pure it will burn the lies off the very souls of those who try to discount it. We have arrived at a place in our lives where truth and honesty prevail and we are creating from that place." "The universe has a way of letting you know that things are right by introducing people like Baker and Terry into the fold." Jimmy also adds that the new music is "sounding fantastic. It's all part of one big cosmic journey, in so that everyone reading this is hitching their silver chord to the Great Pumpkin Space Train!"
No other information, regarding a release date, label affiliation, album title or tour plans have been
issued,
