PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END - DVD REVIEW
- Mitzi J. Johnson

Salutations, my good friends! How fares this day or eve as the case may be? I am well, quite well, thanks. I have my visualization board up. I have just received something from BARNEY'S NEW YORK, which I had on my board. If you have not seen THE SECRET and you don't understand me, well, I can't help you, now. You must help yourself. My editor told me that I need to cut my intros short and focus on the review of the film. WHATEVER!!!! No, just kidding!! HA! HA! I just love my job. Who cares if my boss is a slave driver and never gives me a raise or vacation pay or health benefits! I love what I do and that is worth a million dollars! Right? Of course, right! Um, can I have a MILLION DOLLARS, then, please? So, this next film features one of the best actors of our day. I love him soooo much.

GENRE: Action and Adventure

AWARDS: Orlando Bloom for Worst Supporting Actor (I STRONGLY DISAGREE!!!)

My one complaint about this film is that I did not see it on the big screen. My instincts told me to, but, I sadly, ignored them. Lesson learned. The special effects are amazing! Considering the story is based on a ride at DISNEYLAND, it is pretty interesting and slightly corny in only a way PIRATES can be corny. Who doesn't love PIRATES? GEOFFERY RUSH makes a great PIRATE. KERA KNIGHTLEY and ORLANDO BLOOM do a good job. They both display comedic ability and are easy on the eyes. I know some other critic gave Mr. BLOOM a worst actor award and for once I think they are wrong. I am slightly jealous of Ms.KNIGHTLEY; it is just not fair that it is she and not I in that movie. The true treasure of this movie is of course, JOHNNY DEPP. I do not understand why he was not nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD for this role. Sadly, the ACADEMY tends to overlook fine comedic performances. He is funny, sharp and charismatic and his character development is stunning. He always challenges the viewer to go beyond their expectations. I love him. This movie should have won two ACADEMY AWARDS. BEST ACTOR and SPECIAL EFFECTS, but what do I know.

Aaargh, Maties!
