I was really excited to see this film, 'cuz I had read the book. Then my mom told me the movie wasn't as good
as the book. Wellio, I have to agree with my mom. Typical, isn't it? The book was an entertaining read, not
on my top 500 list of great books to read, but perfect if you want something for the airplane. There are two
reasons to see this film. One if you read the book. Two for NATALIE PORTMAN. The story is based on the true
story of HENRY THE 8th and ANNE BOLEYN his second wife. Apparently, there was a sister to ANNE who is in the
history books but we have never heard of, of course until the book came out. SCARLETT JOHANSSON plays the sister. I
normally love her work, but I think she was miscast in the part. She looks out of place in the film. ERIC BANA is
also miscast. YUCK, is all I have to say, and he was fantastic in that SPEILBERG film and TROY. The costumes are
okay, not great. The story cut to shreds. However, NATALIE PORTMAN has some really good scenes. She portrays the
character as written really well and I thought was perfectly cast! The actor who played the uncle was good, too.
KRISTIN SCOTT THOMAS is in the film, but barely. It's worth seeing, but barely.
