Mikey at the Movies

Let's face it, the movie season this summer is full of busts. Nothing out has even caught my attention since the release at the start of this summer. I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Lucas' completion of his epic story of good and evil, but I would still like to know why the hell Chewbacca left as a leader of his people to be a co-pilot of a scoundrel like Han Solo. Well , that's the movie buisness I guess.

New releases like War of the World's (AI has tried to indoctrinate me into Scientology and if he can't do it, Tom sure can't, but Katie can :) Fantastic 4, Stealth, The Longest Yard, Mr. and Mrs. Pitt (that's a better title I think), and so on... They really don't have any draw to me. The only movie I even regret not seeing so far is Cinderella Man. However, I will see The Dukes of Hazzard, more for Jessica Simpson in a bikini than seeing Owen "The World's Ugliest Nose" Wilson or Johnny "Alligator Nipple Ring" Knoxville. I have high hopes for this movie for one reason only.

Jay Chandrasekhar of Super Troopers fame (he gave moustache rides for those of you who saw the movie) is directing the movie, and the whole lizard troupe assisted rewriting the original script by John O' Brien according to Broken Lizard member Kevin Heffernan on his web blog at brokenlizard.com (a liter of cola, please). The entire cast of Lizard will be making cameos throughout the film according to their site and it will include a tounge in cheek scene based on a Super Troopers skit. Also I'll be checking out the latest DVD's in Constantine and and Million Dollar Baby, last years best picture. Until next time, the balcony is closed due to Pee Wee Herman's mess.
