Children's Pool in La Jolla

After a reported fire at the Children's Pool beach in La Jolla, the San Diego City Council put forth an ordinance that would no longer allow fires on San Diego beaches. Still allowed are the city provided concrete fire areas, or in barbeques.
In addition to protecting
La Jolla's real estate, residents and property, Donna Frye (San Diego Councilwoman) says that the ordinance is not just about Children's Pool, or the seals that inhabit the area, but more about people's safety at all San Diego beaches.
A unanimous decision for the ordinance was approved on Tuesday and will require another reading before it may take effect. - 03/28/07
