09/11/06 - LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM to Release a New Solo Record and Launch Nationwide Tour. Lindsey Buckingham, is preparing to release his first new solo work in more than a decade. The new record, "Skin" is scheduled for release October 3, and will be immediately followed by a nationwide tour which kicks off October 6th in Atlanta at the Variety Playhouse. In order to keep scalpers at bay and allow fans a chance at prime seats, Buckingham is offering fans who pre-order the new CD through Ticketmaster.com the opportunity to be the first in their market to purchase tickets. Of course, to see that this actually happens, fans are limited to 2 pre-sale tickets, but can purchase as many CD's as they want. Skin is an intimate set of songs that features stripped-down arrangements. Buckingham told USA Today, "There are basically no drums, very little bass. On a musical level, I've been trying to distill things." But for fans who are used to the rocking, glossy Fleetwood Mac productions, Buckingham says that he's planning to release a "more rocking" companion CD sometime next year after completing his U.S. tour.
